StrapRight Straps Set Up Guide
For Vehicles WITH A Roof Rack
The StrapRight Strap Set comes standard with all PackRight Car Top Cargo Bags except the Sport Jr. and can be used with or without a luggage rack. The Strap Right Strap Set (Fig 1) includes (4) nylon straps that are 1" wide and over 10" long. They are treated with a waterproof coating to prevent water from wicking through the material.
You can safely use just two straps between either the two cross bars (Fig 2) or between the two side rails if that is all your vehicle has. Using all four straps, however, would be the preferred method of attachment since it is the most secure (Fig 3).
Each strap consists of two strap pieces connected through a center buckle. Unthread the short strap piece from the buckle and put it through the roof rack, threading its end through its loop (Fig 4). Pull it tight and then do the same process with the longer strap piece on the opposite side of the vehicle.

Make sure to run both strap pieces through the d-rings (Fig 5) that are on each side of the car luggage carrier before bringing the ends together on top of the bag and rethreading the short strap back through the center buckle (Fig 6).

For Vehicles WITHOUT A Roof Rack
If your vehicle does not have either the cross bars or the side rails, you can still use the StrapRight strap set to safely attach your carrier to your vehicle's roof by running the straps through the vehicle. Start by unthreading the short strap piece from the center buckle and connecting its loop end to the loop end of the long strap piece (Fig 7). Then run the strap through the doors of the open vehicle. Make sure the straps go through the bag's d-rings before bringing the strap pieces together on top of the roof carrier (Fig 8). You'll then rethread the short strap piece through the center buckle (Fig 6 above) and tighten appropriately.

It is recommended that the Non-Skid Roof Protection Pad be used with the car top carriers on vehicles without roof racks (Fig 9 and Fig 10).
With large vehicles one strap is not going to be long enough to go all the way through the vehicle and over the bag. In this case you would need to attach two straps together to create a double long strap as illustrated in (Fig 11). Leave one strap intact, but separate the two pieces of the second strap by unthreading the short strap piece from the center buckle. Then take the loop ends of each piece of the separated strap and connect them to the loop ends of the intact strap (Fig 7 above).

Run this double long strap through the open vehicle, through the d-rings, and over the top of the carrier on the roof. Rethread the short strap piece back through the center buck (Fig 6 above) and tighten until the bag is secure.
Final Adjustments For Straps
Each strap has a plastic tri-glide (Fig 12) to secure the extra length of the strap so that it doesn't flap in the wind. Always check straps before driving and tie off any excess length (Fig 13). If the straps are too long, cut off the extra length and melt the cut end to prevent fraying. Position the straps at least 20" apart on each side of the vehicle (Fig 14).
