Roof Top Cargo Box Information

Lakeland Gear provides roof top cargo boxes in all different sizes from Valley, Inno, Thule, and Yakima.  These boxes require roof top rack cross bars, running left to right across your vehicle.  All of the mounting hardware is included with each box.  For help in determining which box is right for you, check out the Roof Top Cargo Box Sizing Guide. 

There are three different attachment methods for car top boxes to choose from on Lakeland Gear. Each has its benefits!

1. Quick Install attachments act as clamps on your cross bars. You simply turn a knob inside of the box to tighten the clamp. This method gets you on the road in minutes.

2. Easy Snap attachments slide on with minimal effort getting you on the road in less than 10 minutes.  A "U" shaped piece slides in from the bottom, then just flip the tab on the clamp inside the box and you are good to go!

3. U-bolt attachments slide through from under the box and then screw tight inside.  Some tools may be necessary for this attachment method, but you will still be on the road in less than half an hour.

NOTE: Hummer and any other factory cross bars over 3.5 inches wide may not work.  Please contact us for assistance.  

The Thule SideKick, Karrite Explorer, Valley Adventurer, and Valley Expedition, and all Inno models can be shipped via UPS for cheaper delivery and express shipping when needed. All other roof top boxes are shipped to your door by commercial truck line. If you require cross bars for your existing luggage rack, please visit our Roof Rack Systems Category. We carry cross bars from Inno, Thule, and Yakima that will mount onto your existing factory side rails. As you will see, they are offered in different widths to accommodate your specific vehicle.  To mount to your existing factory side rails, you will require a set of four "feet", a set of two bars, and four locking cylinders to lock the rack to your roof rack (optional).  If you have no rack at all and would like to add a cargo box, please call us for further instruction and details.
